Our Story How it all began
Servus from Munich! My name is Synthia, and as the founder of Servus Bavaria Tours, I would like to share our story with you.
A childhood memory is where it all started. Every summer on our family trip to visit relatives in Cyprus, I had a favorite moment: I would stare spellbound at the black airport board that rattled loudly, announcing the latest arrivals and departures. Fascinated, I wished I could visit each of those faraway destinations. Although I later spent time abroad, in the USA, Italy and Greece, I knew I would not be able to travel the world permanently. As a compromise, I wanted the world to come to me. I had found my calling in the tourism industry!
As life goes, I ignored my interest in tourism and opted to study communication science, politics and Italian philology at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich. I became a marketing manager for the colorful world of film and TV. After working on several children's series, reality shows and Hollywood movies, my desire to share adventures with guests from around the globe had returned!
Tour Guide Qualifications
And so, almost two decades after my last university lecture, I went back to school. I attended classes with experienced guides, immersed myself in countless books about the multifaceted history of Munich and Bavaria, and I achieved my goal!
Your Local Friend Tours and Ludwig & Lola Stadtführungen in München
I co-founded two tour companies catering to separate target groups: “Your Local Friend Tours” introduced international visitors to Bavarian culture, cuisine and history. “Ludwig & Lola” hosted tours for locals as well as company events. Both companies sought to share our passion for Munich with our guests.
Virtual city tours
Covid suddenly brought our world to a standstill. Face-to-face meetings and city tours were no longer possible, nobody traveled to Munich anymore, and social life was paralyzed. So, we entered the online world, because city tours can also be realized while working at home. We created an extensive program of virtual city tours and online tours, bringing Munich to screens around the world - live and in color.
10,000 Steps in Munich
With life slowly returning to normal, virtual work became analog again. But if there's one thing we learned, it's to go for a walk! In our book “10.000 Schritte in München”, published in March 2023 by Kneipp-Verlag, 15 captivating tours will tempt and guide you as you extensively explore the Munich city area on foot.

At the end of 2023, the decision was made to give up Ludwig & Lola and Your Local Friend, and I moved on. My enthusiasm for city tours in Munich remained! Thus 2024 started with my founding of an exciting new company: Servus Bavaria Tours.
At Servus Bavaria Tours, we bring history to life for you, because entertaining city tours are our passion! With a fresh design, an updated portfolio and a new brand image but a familiar team of experienced guides, we are constantly developing new, captivating tours for you.
