Questions we get asked on our city tours

Want to know which questions we get asked most often on our city tours?

Here they are — in no particular order — along with our answers:

Question 1: “Are you the food tour?“
What a great question! Of course, we know what you mean. But the wording always reminds us of a book that became a big hit in Germany a few years ago. What was it called again? “Excuse Me, Are You the Sausage?” 😊

Question 2: “Where is the nearest toilet?”
The classic — and in Munich, sometimes not quite as easy to answer as you might think. But don’t worry, we’ll always find one for you!

Question 3: “Do you have anything for Munich locals?”
Of course we do! Everyone can learn something new with us. And for those who think they already know everything, there’s our Gscheidhaferltour.

Question 4: “I could never remember all of that. How do you do it?”
We’ve all had thorough professional training as city guides, of course. But the learning never stops. For us, that means reading a lot — local newspapers, blogs and history books — and regularly keeping up with our training and research.

Question 5: “And what do you do for a living?”
This. Exactly this. All year round. But we’re happy that our job comes with so much fun. Otherwise, you probably wouldn’t ask, would you?

Question 6: “Which is the best traditional restaurant?”
You can always ask us that! Of course, we all have our personal favourites, but we try to recommend places that are the perfect match for your occasion.

Question 7: “What do we do if it rains?”
We go on a city tour! That’s the great thing: we guides know all the best spots to take shelter and make sure everyone stays comfortable. Of course, we still recommend dressing for the weather — and maybe bringing an umbrella, too.

Question 8: “Where can I buy tickets to the castle?”
It’s actually quite funny: every time we’re in the Kaiserhof telling the fascinating story of the Residence, someone asks where to buy tickets. We’re always happy to show you! Still, it might be time for a few more signs around here. The many desperate visitors would certainly appreciate it! See also Question No. 2: “Where is the nearest toilet?”

Question 9: “Are you the Free Tour?”
The short answer: NO. And now for the longer version: we don’t really see the point in offering our tours for free. After all, we’ve invested a lot of time, energy and money in creating an attractive portfolio of professional tours for you. And if that still doesn’t answer your question, see Question No. 5: “And what do you do for a living?”
